Samsung LED TV coming in 2009

We’ve all pretty much heard of LED TVs by but the truth is that most manufacturers are producing LCD televisions that use an LED backlit panel to produce some breathtaking image quality. Ok, so now that there’s no confusion, Samsung have announced the imminent release of the 9000 series LCD TVs. “So what?”, I hear you say. Well, this new Samsung range will be the first to sport a direct-type LED backlight (rather than the edge-lit LED seen on their current 8500 series). The interesting piece to come out of this is the 9000 series will still have a slim profile which is something that most manufacturers haven’t cracked yet. How thin, we’re not sure and, to be fair, many buyers will probably stick to the likes of the Samsung UE32B7020 mainly because the Samsung prices will be high – qouted: US$3599.99 for the 46-inch (Ouch!).
